Our Vision for Growth: Our 'Why'

When the early Church was forming, the Christian community found itself surrounded by confusion, chaos, and conflicting messages. Early followers of Jesus didn’t always receive consistent teaching and longed for clear, trustworthy guidance.

They wrote to St Peter, and in his second epistle, he responded with wise and enduring advice:

“Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.”
— 2 Peter 3:18

His message was simple but powerful: go back to the source. Learn what Jesus actually said. Grow in understanding. Let that shape your life.

This same message lies at the heart of our school’s vision.

Why This Matters Today

Just like in St Peter’s time, the world today is full of unfounded claims, confusion, and mixed messages—especially in education. We believe that the best way to guide children and adults alike is to seek truth, build character, and grow together in wisdom. We believe in the transforming power of knowledge and the importance of nurturing good character.

Our Core Beliefs

  • Knowledge is powerful and freeing

  • Understanding the world opens doors and raises aspirations.

  • Reading and discovering the best knowledge matters

  • We teach children to seek wisdom, not just information.

  • Character matters

  • We work to grow good character within a Christian ethos, welcoming all, regardless of faith or background.

At Stogursey Church of England Primary School, we’re on a mission to grow in grace, grow in knowledge, and create a community where everyone is encouraged to flourish—in heart, in mind, and in purpose.
